Finance Manager                                                                                                     ____  07.14.2017  Food Conspiracy is currently hiring for a Finance Department Manager.

FUNCTION OF JOB: To ensure the accounting records are in conformity with GAAP rules, while providing financial information to the Board, management and members and support the achievement of Co-op objectives

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Prepare timely, accurate financial statements.
  • Provide weekly, monthly, quarterly and other periodic financial reports to department buyers, management, members and Board as needed.
  • Coordinate preparation of annual capital, balance sheet, income statement and cash flow budgets
  • Monitor deviations from budget and inform management.
  • Ensure all tax forms and licenses are prepared and paid on time.
  • Work with the auditing firm to complete the yearly reviews and audits and ensure controls.
  • Obtain and review adequate insurance for business, board, etc.
  • Work with attorney and Board president on the annual patronage rebate.
  • Supervise and train assistant bookkeeper and HR assistant in her/his duties.
  • Attend board meeting quarterly and serve on the finance committee as needed.
  • Prepare and transmit quarterly reports to CoCoFiSt.
  • Perform bank reconciliations.
  • Oversee processing of staff payroll, maintaining confidentiality of personnel files.
  • Oversee maintenance of calendar of performance and pay reviews, giving reminders to managers.
  • Administer staff benefits (PTO, sick pay, retirement plans, health and dental plans, etc).
  • Work with front end department to collect on bad checks.
  • Prepare new employee packets to be used by hiring managers.
  • Oversee and ensure that accounts payable is paid correctly and timely.
  • Oversee the maintenance of address changes, payments, and setting-up of new members in the membership module.
  • Collect on bad checks and update the bad check list as needed.
  • In conjunction with the front-end manager, establish cash-handling procedures and offer feed-back to streamline front-end problems.
  • Oversee bank deposits to ensure timeliness and accuracy.
  • Perform or oversee daily cash reconciliations to ensure money is being deposited in a timely manner.
  • Prepare policy governance reports for monthly board meeting.

 

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Some formal accounting education
  • Full-charge bookkeeping experience
  • Ability to interpret financial reports for non-accountants
  • Familiarity with computer and accounting software
  • Experience in developing budgets

 

Kitchen Department: Cook                                                                                    ____    5.26.17   
The Kitchen Department is currently hiring for a full-time position (30+ hours / week). Qualified applicants will have: cooking experience, the ability to lift 50+ lbs. throughout a working shift, a flexible work schedule including nights and weekends, and a great attitude.  Job will be posted until position is filled. Food Conspiracy is currently hiring for a Kitchen Department Manager.
FUNCTION OF JOB: To ensure efficient and successful functioning of this department, including staff supervision, leadership and financial accountability. This position contributes to the Co-op mission by preparing and selling high quality natural products and by working with the Cooperative leadership team to serve the owners and the community.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Supervision and leadership of department, financial accountability, department maintenance and product quality expectations, customer service, Co-op knowledge, staff relations, security, and safety, the ability to lift 50+ lbs. throughout a working shift, a flexible work schedule including nights and weekends, and a positive attitude.
QUALIFICATIONS: Previous cooking experience departments, knowledge of natural foods industry, demonstrated customer service skills, previous purchasing experience, ability to prioritize and work with minimal supervision, demonstrated acceptance of responsibility and accountability, ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, memos, etc., familiarity with computers including Word, Excel, and email,  and mathematical skills including cost and margin calculations.Submit physical copy of cover letter, resume, and application in the store.
