FUNCTION OF JOB: To ensure efficient and successful functioning of this department, including staff supervision, leadership and financial accountability. This position contributes to the Co-op mission by preparing and selling high quality natural products and by working with the Cooperative leadership team to serve the owners and the community.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Supervision and leadership of department, financial accountability, department maintenance and product quality expectations, customer service, Co-op knowledge, staff relations, security, and safety, the ability to lift 50+ lbs. throughout a working shift, a flexible work schedule including nights and weekends, and a positive attitude.
QUALIFICATIONS: Previous cooking experience departments, knowledge of natural foods industry, demonstrated customer service skills, previous purchasing experience, ability to prioritize and work with minimal supervision, demonstrated acceptance of responsibility and accountability, ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, memos, etc., familiarity with computers including Word, Excel, and email, and mathematical skills including cost and margin calculations.
