Conscious Consumption and Moving Towards a Zero- Waste Lifestyle
April 25 @ 6:00 pm - 7:00 pm
What is “zero-waste”? Is reaching zero-waste really possible? What are some practical steps one can take to reduce their waste at home, at the grocery store, and on-the-go?
In this workshop, Claire Kaufman, a Tucson-based environmental professional committed to reducing her waste and carbon footprint, will facilitate a discussion answering these questions and more. Claire will explore what “going zero-waste” really means, give tips that she’s learned from her own path towards zero-waste over the last 3 years, as well as help troubleshoot all your zero-waste questions around grocery shopping, eating out, recycling/composting, toiletries, and more. She will also lead a zero-waste “tour” of the Food Conspiracy Co-op, sharing tips & tricks to help each and every workshop attendee become more conscious in their consumption and reduce their trash footprint.
Please meet in the Hoff Building for the start of the workshop, then the group will go over to the Co-op for the store tour.
