About Us:

Founded in 1971, Food Conspiracy Cooperative began as a buying club and has since blossomed into Tucson's only full-service consumer cooperative, located on Historic Fourth Avenue. Owned by over ~4,000 local residents, our co-op operates on democratic principles, prioritizing our owners' needs and fostering a strong sense of community.  Food Conspiracy Cooperative is committed to providing high-quality, sustainably sourced products to our members and the local community. We adhere to the internationally recognized Rochdale Principles and promote whole, natural, organic, and chemical-free products with minimal packaging. Key Responsibilities:

  • Strategic Leadership: Develop and implement business plans aligned with our mission and values. Oversee all aspects of store operations, including sales, merchandising, marketing, and customer service.

  • Financial Management: Manage the co-op's budget, prepare financial reports, and oversee inventory control and purchasing.

  • Human Resources: Recruit, hire, and train a high-performing team. Foster a positive and inclusive work environment.

  • Member and Community Relations: Build and maintain strong relationships with members and community partners. Address concerns and feedback.

  • Operations Management: Ensure compliance with laws and regulations, manage store maintenance, and oversee vendor relationships.

Qualifications:

  • Required and proven experience in grocery retail management, preferably in cooperative organizations.

  • Strong leadership, interpersonal, and communication skills.

  • Passion for sustainable and ethical food practices.

  • Financial acumen and analytical skills.

  • Ability to work collaboratively with the board of directors, member owners, and community partners.
